UNA Test uses EVP - a content validation methodology that focuses on critical aspects of job duties, knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the professional in their specialty. Subject matter experts (with multiple years of actual experience in the specialty) assist UNA by linking test items to clinical practice requirements. They also review items for fairness, difficulty, and consequences to patients if the candidate does not possess the knowledge assessed in the item. All of this information is aggregated into a professional technical report supporting the test’s use for pre-hire screening.
EVP methodology is superior to other validation techniques because patient care scenarios are used throughout the test. This shortens the time it takes for a candidate to take the test, but simultaneously discerns whether the candidate possesses the minimum level of competence required for delivery of safe and effective patient care.
